Ap English Language and Comp Help? *__* [17 Jan 2007|08:49pm]

Hi! I'm new. =D

My English teacher just went on vaca for 1 month....=__=;; As I labor through practice tests on my own, I notice that there are a lot of terms I don't know. Could anyone possibly post a list of the terms Lang/Comp is likely to use? In return...erm...I've taken Calc, World History, Us History, and am in the process of taking Chem, Bio, Psych, Comp Gov and US gov. If anyone needs help with those, I'd be happy to assist.

Thanks much! <3

Hey there everyone. I'm writing a paper for IB English and while I've already written it, it's about 500 words short of the requirement of 1500. I was wondering if anybody had any general ideas for new topic. The prompt is as follows:

Explain how innocence, experience, and the journey from one to the other affects society.Collapse )

Grammar-expert wants to edit/help/proofread Your paper, $2 [15 Jul 2005|01:33am]

My Name is Liz, and I just graduated from the New School For Social Research, a University in Greenwich Village, NYC. I was a fiction writing concentrator. I am offering up my knowledge, talent and skill for literature and english to You, the High school or College student. I recently found out that I scored in the 98% percentile on the Vocabulary portion of the Wexler IQ test. (better than 98% of all those who were administered the Wexler IQ test) I also want to add that I received an A in a Shakespeare course Junior year of College.

I am impeccable when it comes to proofreading and grammar. The 'good' grammar comes from my knowledge of Latin, my Catholic school teacher mother, writing experience, and talent. ;--)

So email me, nomen_mihi_est at yahoo. I would love to proofread and help you with Your term paper, essay, etc under 15 pages, for any subject. If its a college entrance essay, I will also give you questions and suggestions, (because I am also a literature writer). I can help you. I charge $2 to help with a 2 page double spaced paper. So if it is a longer assignment, we can work something out. :--)

Introduction and question [27 Feb 2005|11:59am]

[ mood | aggravated ]

Hi! I'm Rachel. I'm a senior and I take three AP classes. The classes aren't too hard for me, but every once in a while i'll come across something I don't quite understand. That's why I'm here.
In my AP English class, we are working on elaborations. They're not too difficult, but I'm stuck on one right now. The one that i'm stuck on is an elaboration for an excerpt of a William Cowper poem. I have to identify two tones, one purpose, a topic sentence, two major points, and three to four sentences for each of the major points. The excerpt is this:

balancing equations [30 Dec 2004|01:26am]

[ mood | confused!! ]

When given a problem like Cu + H2O(g)-> how do I solve it? Is there a process to find out what type of reaction happened? I also had the problem of balancing correctly, but the reaction I wrote couldn't happen in real life (e.g.: I thought KClO3-> became 2KClO3->K2+2ClO3, so I got it wrong because i found out it can't happen). Which rules would help me avoid that from happening again? even some good links would be greatly appreciated, because I'm so confused! Please help me! :(

Here's some examples from a packet that could be used if needed. the answers are below, but i couldn't understand how to be able to find them on a test:

Write correctly balanced equations for these expressions:
1) KClO3 ->
Ans: 2KClO3 -> 2KCl+3O2

2) KBr + MnO2 + H2SO4 ->
Ans: 2KBr + MnO2 + 2H2SO4 -> 2K^(+1) + Br2 + Mn^(2+) + 2H2O + 2SO4^(2-)

3) AgCl(s) + NH3(aq)
Ans: AgCl(s) + 2NH3(aq) -> Ag(NH3)2^(+1) + Cl^(-1)(aq)

4) Cu + H2O(g)
Ans: Cu + H2O(g) -> Cu^(2+)(aq)
